Sha Tin had a turf track presented in GOOD condition with the running rail set in the “B” position.

RACE 1: C5 - 1400m
Course: TURF "B"     Going: GOOD

The pace for the first was rather sedate and this race didn’t rate as anything special. That said, Soccer Master produced the 6th-best final-200m (11.36), so it was some win! He remains in the class and will be hard to beat if he can hold that form. Bundle Of Energy is in good form also and should fare well in this grade moving forward.

RACE 2: C5 - 1400m
Course: TURF "B"     Going: GOOD

The pace was even and this ended up as the worst race on the card. The only runner that ran with some merit was Seize The Spirit who just ended up way too far back in the running, he clearly should have won with a half-positive ride in the early stages.

RACE 3: C4 - 1000M
Course: TURF "B"     Going: GOOD

It was a stylish debut from Winning Dreamer and he posted a very high number for his victory. He is headed for Class 2 or higher. The 10-point penalty means he will get a light weight in a higher grade which might be even better for him. Fabulous Eight was solid and he should prove very competitive again as long as he doesn’t run in to another star.

RACE 4: C3 - 1200M
Course: TURF "B"     Going: GOOD

The pace was solid and they just went too quickly through the first two sections. Racing Fighter and Unique Treasure had the race set up nicely for them while Quadruple Double was brave enough, but that early pressure took its toll. Overall, the race was just average so I’m not sure there’s anything significant to note out of it.

RACE 5: C4 - 1200M
Course: TURF "B"     Going: GOOD

The pace slowly built and this race didn’t rate very well overall and it suited those that sat closer to the lead. Bright Kid hit the line better than anything else and was a touch unlucky not to have won. I’m not sure there is much substance there but he could be one to consider behind the winner Hinyuen Swiftness.

RACE 6: C4 - 1400M
Course: TURF "B"     Going: GOOD

The pace through the middle stages was strong and those midfield or worse were well placed. So We Joy was three-wide with no cover and battled pretty well. Super Red Dragon hit the line with a race-best final-200m (11.70) which was creditable, but he will need to find a similar contest.

RACE 7: C4 - 2000M
Course: TURF "B"     Going: GOOD

The pace was relatively even, with a little slackening in the speed from the 1200m to 800m. Under 3-lengths covered half the field over the line and the reality is, there isn’t much between them. The next time they meet, barriers etc will make the difference, but there was no standout and nothing made real appeal behind Bullish Glory.

RACE 8: C3 - 1200M
Course: TURF "B"     Going: GOOD

The pace set here was genuine. Flying Sword saved all the ground and worked home quite well on his second start for Tony Cruz. He might be one to consider going forward, while Eligere is getting closer to a win. Stanley Park was given a poor ride from the young lad Chau. He deserves another chance.

RACE 9: Group 3 - 1600M
Course: TURF "B"     Going: GOOD

This race rated pretty well, as one would expect and Ka Ying Star with no Beauty Generation notched his win. Southern Legend was very good under the weight and Fast Most Furious was exceptionally good. Yes, he was getting a lot of weight relief, but his closing sectionals were excellent.

RACE 10: C3 - 1400M
Course: TURF "B"     Going: GOOD

The pace was quite slow early and picked up from the 800m, but ultimately, those that raced close to lead were suited. Private Rocket had every possible chance, he’s on the barred list. Fantastic Show and Circuit Glory both ran with merit given the race-shape. Marvel Dragon was solid enough.

RACE 11: C2 - 1200M
Course: TURF "B"     Going: GOOD

The first 800m was run quickly and the race rated very well overall. Given the early tempo, All In Mind performed very well, as 3 of the first 4 past the post came from back in the field. It was a terrific run on his Hong Kong debut from Lucky Express. He makes the SID file, as he will strip fitter and the number he posted on debut suggests he doesn’t have a lot to find to go a lot higher in the ratings.
