Sha Tin had a turf track presented in GOOD TO FIRM condition with the running rail set in the “C” position.
The track raced a touch quicker than standard. Winners from the 600m came from 0 to 4.6 lengths from the leader, 1st through 7th position in running, 1-3 wide around the bend and in lanes 1-9 in the home straight.
The races on the AWT (dirt) track were run on a surface rated GOOD.
The all weather was fast and leading and being on the rail was clearly a major advantage.
RACE 1: C4 - 1200m
Course: TURF "C" Going: GOOD TO FIRM

The pace stepped up in the middle section of this race and Eligere proved too good for this grade sitting three-wide with no cover and winning. I’m not sure that he defeated much in this event, but Sunday Betting ran on okay and isn’t far from a drop in class.
RACE 2: C5 - 1200m
Course: TURF "C" Going: GOOD TO FIRM

As one would expect, this was the worst rating race on the card. The pace picked up from the 800m and One Step Ahead was held -up and closed quite well all things considered. The issue for him going forward is a lack of early pace but he is ready to win a race of a similar ilk. Universal Crown worked home quite well and is lightly-raced, so he might be able to pick up a race in the grade.
RACE 3: C4 - 1200M
Course: TURF "C" Going: GOOD TO FIRM

The pace was even and First Responder made every post a winner. The race rated about where it should but the negative ride on Seasons Bliss (SID) didn’t work out well and he powered to the line. His effort was tremendous, posting the 2nd-best final-400m (22.18) at the meeting and he is ready to win. He might appreciate a step up in trip.
RACE 4: C5 - 1400M
Course: TURF "C" Going: GOOD TO FIRM

The blinkers went on Kung Fu Tea and a good ride managed to ensure he notched his first win on his ninth career start. The race rated okay for this grade so the form should stack up okay, and probably Joy Master might be one to keep safe given the manner in which he hit the line.
RACE 5: C4 - 1800M
Course: TURF "C" Going: GOOD TO FIRM

The pace was strong through the middle sections and the race set up nicely for those midfield or worse in the running, including the winner, Red Elyseees. Stunning Impact closed in a solid manner over this trip and his last two efforts have shown potential. I think he could win a similar race in the near future and he makes the SID file.
RACE 6: C4 - 1400M
Course: TURF "C" Going: GOOD TO FIRM

This was another race where the pace was even, but it was a solid win by Peach Blossoms on his second start for Tony Cruz and his first run on the turf. He clearly has upside and given how he sat very wide, he might be one to stick with given how this event rated. Legend Goes went better with the blinkers applied on his third start and might be looking for a long journey.
RACE 7: C3 - 1200M
Course: TURF "C" Going: GOOD TO FIRM

A slow first sectional was set and the pace really picked up from the 800m. Mighty Valor was probably cuddled a little too much in the lead, but what a win it was from Killer Bee. He wasn’t entitled to win this event and his final-400m (21.85) was top class and more wins are in store. Overall, I expect the form to work out well from this event.
RACE 8: C3 - 1650M
Course: AWT Going: GOOD

Skyey Supreme had the pattern in his favour so I won’t be too trusting of this form if he strikes a more even surface. So We Joy hit the line with a final-200m of 11.28 and was very good with the pattern against him. He clearly loves this surface.
RACE 9: C3 - 1400M
Course: TURF "C" Going: GOOD TO FIRM

The pace was pretty genuine here and this race rated about where it should. True Legend’s rider lost his iron early which may not have helped his cause, neither did being eyeballed from the 800m. Then again Super Ten with the light weight kept kicking and delivered a solid win. Hall Of Champ hit the line very well and will be very competitive when he next appears. Meridian Genius was sound but it’s hard to know whether he is one to rely on.
RACE 10: C2 - 1650M
Course: AWT Going: GOOD

Another big number and fast time was posted here from Hongkong Great, but obviously it was as much a function of the track and pattern. Berlin Tango (SID) clearly likes the surface but his last two efforts have been very good indeed, he makes the SID file and is close to a win.
