Sha Tin had a turf track presented in GOOD condition initially, before being upgraded to GOOD TO FIRM after race 3, applied retrospectively. The running rail set in the “A+3” position.
A fast track and significant adjustments were made with every race inside standard for the class. At the 600m, winners came from 1st through 12th positions in the running, 1-3 wide around the bend, 0 to 7.9 lengths from the leader and in lanes 1-12 in the home straight. So basically, the track was fast but fair. There was a tail wind in the straight that was noted through out the day.
RACE 1: C5 - 1400m
Course: TURF "A+3" Going: GOOD

The pace was steady for the first half of this race and then picked up from the 800m. Winwin Thirtythree scored under a good ride, while Alloy Star enjoyed a good run and ran okay. The Full Bloom was too far out of his ground and might be better with a senior rider. Not much to see here overall.
RACE 2: C4 - 2000m
Course: TURF "A+3" Going: GOOD

This was the worst race on the card, where the pace really picked up a fair way from home, setting up it nicely for those that sat midfield or worse in the running. Joyful Heart was negatively ridden and taken back to last, but he was huge running on strongly from an impossible position and posting a solid final-400m (22.78). He and Donc Je Suis each make the SID file and were very good given how much of a task they were set.
RACE 3: C3 - 1000M
Course: TURF "A+3" Going: GOOD TO FIRM

It was a very impressive win here by Winner Method, and the time was pretty special. This performance would suggest at this early stage he is on the heels of the better sprinters in Hong Kong, so he is one to keep following! Overall, I think the form will stack up well and he should be suited to 1200m too given his best work was a meeting-best final-400m of 21.81 and he took a while to warm up. Brilliant Fortune (SID) was gallant and should be winning soon.
RACE 4: C4 - 1400M
Course: TURF "A+3" Going: GOOD TO FIRM

On a more even track and the applicaiton of the winkers , Super Ten attained the lead and won nicely. Cheerful Days was three-wide with no cover through out, so he was good enough in defeat without being any match for the winner. A couple of horses caught the eye back in the field. Kung Fu Tea and Viva Popcorn both made good late ground with the former eligible for a drop in grade, so he might be one to follow.
RACE 5: C3 - 1400M
Course: TURF "A+3" Going: GOOD TO FIRM

A slow tempo was set for the first-600m of this Class 3, and then it developed into a sprint home, so the race rated okay and clearly Golden Link was nicely suited by the shape of it. E Star was given too much to do and was very good again. Golden Link had a perfect run but will be competitive again. Hall Of Champ ran his last-600m in 33.46 from a long way back in the field and is on the brink of a drop in grade where he should be too good.
RACE 6: C4 - 1200M
Course: TURF "A+3" Going: GOOD TO FIRM

A slow first sectional was set here and they have run approx 1-second quicker than standard for the final-800m. Gallant Express enjoyed a good run and the perfect race shape, but will no doubt go on with it. Dragon Fortune and Seasons Bliss (SID 21.96 final-400m) were excellent and strung up in traffic when the tempo increased. I expect the form in this event to work out well.
RACE 7: C4 - 1400M
Course: TURF "A+3" Going: GOOD TO FIRM

The early pace was strong in this event and they walked home the final-400m. It was a very good run from Gracylove (behind City Legend) and there were no excuses for Mission Smart (who missed the start, which was probably a blessing) who although being a touch hampered late, ultimately had the race run perfectly for him. Not much to note from the remainder of them either.
RACE 8: C3 - 1600M
Course: TURF "A+3" Going: GOOD TO FIRM

The pace began slow and it picked up from the 800m, so it was a terrific win from Authentic Champ under the circumstances. His final-200m (10.96) was a meeting-best. Serious Liaison will be even better suited over 1800m +, while Looking Great continues to run well and is another that will be suited by being back up in trip.
RACE 9: C3 - 1200M
Course: TURF "A+3" Going: GOOD TO FIRM

This was another race where the tempo picked up from the 800m but Good View Clarico proved too good by leading all the way. Forte raced three-wide without cover and had excuses, as did Chicken Dance who was held up at a key stage. However, overall, this was not one of the better races on the day.
RACE 10: C2 - 1200M
Course: TURF "A+3" Going: GOOD TO FIRM

Duke Wai jumped much better this time, settled handy, and that made all the difference. He absorbed some mid-race pressure but deserved the win. The Crown missed the start, but off a strong tempo produced an outstanding final-quarter (21.89 3rd-best at meeting) and he quite simply could have won here and should be winning very soon based on this performance. He clearly goes better ridden with patience. but is ready to win.
