Happy Valley had a turf track presented in GOOD condition with the running rail set in the “A” or true position.
The track basically raced on standard and was pretty fair. Winners from the 600m came from 0 to 7.3 lengths from the leader, 1st through 12th position in running, 1 to 3 wide around the bend and in lanes 1-10 in the home straight. So a nice spread of results with this even playing track overall.
RACE 1: C5 - 1000m
Course: TURF "A" Going: GOOD

It was quite a good win here by Valiant Elegance who was wide going in to the first turn before crossing to the rail. As usual, early on the card the track can ride quickly and he scooted along but posted a number suggesting that he will be competitive in Class 4 with a light weight. Telecom Missile missed the start and his chances were blown there, but he kept on well enough and can be followed.
RACE 2: C4 - 1000m
Course: TURF "A" Going: GOOD

The pace was solid here, once again, but the leader Amazing Rocky slipped away and held on to win. Party Warrior (SID) was making his debut and posted an excellent final-200m (11.56) on the back of a solid tempo. He will be better for the experience, and might be suited by a step up in trip as well. Happy Time sustained an excellent final-600m and it’s worth keeping him safe next time he races too.
RACE 3: C4 - 1200M
Course: TURF "A" Going: GOOD

The pace was solid through the first two sectionals which set it up nicely for something settling midfield or worse, namely Red Brick Fighter. This is clearly his preferred distance and he performed pretty much bang on his previous best figures. Island Shine was sound but had his chance. Overall, it was a pretty standard race without any real highlights to follow.
RACE 4: C4 - 1650M
Course: TURF "A" Going: GOOD

The pace was even and Sun Of Makfi had a good run in the “box seat” and drew clear to gain a deserved win. It all worked out for him this time, and being able take closer order to the leaders was a big help. I think that Ernest Feeling is limited, but it was a sound run in defeat and he is close to picking up a race. He will need a similarly weak Class 4 that said.
RACE 5: C4 - 1200M
Course: TURF "A" Going: GOOD

NOTE: Fortune Hero returned lame. This looked like an ordinary race on paper and it turned out that way. Harrier Jet had the run of the race and notched his fifth win over the track and trip, but the nine-year-old is well exposed and it’s hard to get too excited about the race! Happy Gathering ran on well from back in the field, but passed tired/limited horses and I’m not completely convinced about him either.
RACE 6: C4 - 1800M
Course: TURF "A" Going: GOOD

NOTE: Bright Vision returned lame. The pace was solid and this rated as the best race on the card with Winning Volatility scoring. Ultimately, those that raced close to the lead went too hard and all those out the back were suited. Rainbow Light made an early move and was left exposed, while Fast Pace certainly had excuses. I think that pair can be followed again.
RACE 7: C3 - 1200M
Course: TURF "A" Going: GOOD

NOTE: Ping Hai Galaxy returned lame. The first seven past-the-post were covered by around 2-lengths and the race just rated average overall with Goodluck Goodluck winning. Here Comes Ted was allowed to drift back and the money drifted down the drain as a result. He ran well but needs to be able to hold a position. Meaningful Star (SID) was only having his fifth local start but this run was much better, and his final-200m (11.28) was the best at the meeting. He isn’t far from a drop in grade and might be worth following.
RACE 8: C3 - 1200M
Course: TURF "A" Going: GOOD

The pace was good and a savvy ride combined with a fortunate set of circumstances ensured that Simply Fluke ran over the top of them to win. He ran to his best but always needs a touch of luck given his racing pattern. H Z Tourbillon (SID) posted his best figure to date and will be one winning soon, he was just vulnerable late given the early pressure he sustained. Ka Ying Master is worth following up in grade. He is constantly underbet by the public and I think he will be again. The form should work out well out of this event.
RACE 9: C3 - 1650M
Course: TURF "A" Going: GOOD

The pace was only even here and the first-three past-the-post were all prominent in the run. Gallant Crown had a good run in transit and was too tough for them late. Hall Of Champ was given a poor ride. Helene Wisdom Star was given a good ride but peaked on his run given the ealry move, but he can win another with a better race shape. Overall, the race rated just okay and there was nothing overly special to note.
