Happy Valley had a turf track presented in GOOD condition with the running rail set in the “A” or “true” position.

RACE 1: C5 - 1650m
Course: TURF "A"     Going: GOOD

The pace was solid and this race rated well for the grade. Wonderful Tiger was dominant off a good speed and considering he remains in the grade still, he will be hard to beat again if he can hold this form and produce a similar number next time. Virtus Star was having his first run for the new stable and can win soon, but he will need his share of luck etc… as he tends to settle back in the field.

RACE 2: C4 - 1650m
Course: TURF "A"     Going: GOOD

The pace was good without being quick and it ramped up from the 800m. It was a nice ride on the winner Best Alliance and there was merit in the efforts of Happy Warrior and Invaluable but the race rated only average so there was nothing special to see here overall.

RACE 3: C4 - 1000M
Course: TURF "A"     Going: GOOD

This was the worst race on the card and didn’t rate well at all, so I’m not sure I will be following much out of it. Especially when the very well exposed Zero Hedge managed to score! Winning Ways probably goes close to winning with a clear run but was checked at a crucial stage. However, I doubt this form will stack up.

RACE 4: C4 - 1650M
Course: TURF "A"     Going: GOOD

This is another race that didn’t rate that well. It was a better effort from the lightly-raced Snow Airjet who enjoyed a good run on the back of a steady pace. I am not convinced about the race in general, but Snow Airjet might be open to more improvement than most. The winner Blooming Spirit was okay.

RACE 5: C4 - 1200M
Course: TURF "A"     Going: GOOD

Yet another race that didn’t rate that well. The pace was decent but they didn’t come up in very good time overall, with the final-400m over a half-a-second outside standard. There was 2.5 lengths covering 9 of 11 runners as well. A slow overall time and a bunched finish is not usually a good sign.

RACE 6: C3 - 1200M
Course: TURF "A"     Going: GOOD

This race rated as the best on the card. The pace was solid and they came home in good splits. What A Legend had an outside draw and was taken back, and just let the race get away from him. He was good and makes the SID file. There were clear excuses for Dancing Fighter and overall, I expect this to prove to be a strong form reference behind the winner Shouson.

RACE 7: C3 - 1650M
Course: TURF "A"     Going: GOOD

The pace was solid and this race rated reasonably well, even though it was about standard for the class. Cinquante Cinq went for a run that was never there. Naboo Star was huge again, but he does need luck given he gets back in the field, but his final-200m (11.08) was outstanding. He has a motor. Jolly Honour was well-ridden to score.

RACE 8: C3 - 1200M
Course: TURF "A"     Going: GOOD

This was the second-best race on the card and it was a big win to Winning Method who produced some first-class closing-sectionals to win. Shining Gem did as well, with a meeting-best 10.56 final-200m! Winning Method has clearly improved since the blinkers were taken off and he is racing much better, and it looks as though Shining Gem can win again. Victory Power was slaughtered yet again.
