The track played like a typical “A” course in terms of suiting runners coming off the rail in the straight. There was a strong headwind down the back and the inside lanes weren’t great at all. Winners were 0 to 8-lengths off the leader at the 800m, lanes 6 to 8 in the straight we the “sweet spot” and the inside 3-widths in the straight were poisonous in general.
