There was a downpour prior to the races so the turf track was slower early in the day. Winners came from 1st through 10th position in the running, 0 to 4.5-lengths off the lead at the 600m and in lanes 1 to 6 in the home straight. Of note, 7 of the 10 winners were 1st or 2nd in the running, and all bar one winner sat two-wide around the bend.
