The track was very fast and significant adjustments were made. The winners came from 1st through 10th position (0 to 5.5-lengths) in running from 800m, 1 to 2-wide, and in lanes 1 to 8 in the home straight. So the nature of this rail position saw”up and in” being better, but the track probably played evenly in the straight, just fast and better suited to those close to and being on-pace.
