There looks as though there’ll be a good play in this race with INCANTO PREPARED who has been running well recently with some excuses. The wide draw and negative tactics were a clear reason for defeat last time, but his closing sectionals (22.83 final-400m) were clearly the race-best. Importantly, Incanto Prepared was against several key rivals (BIG BANG BONG, UNIVERSAL GO GO and GO BALLISTIC) and maps to get a much better run though out the race this time – he looks a great “over” to take this out. Universal Go Go was sound in the same race (763) without having any excuses, while Big Bang Bong was very good given he was three-wide no cover the trip. PARTY TOGETHER will attract some public support given the booking of Zac Purton in conjunction with Peter Ho, a trainer looking to dodge a “strike” by getting to the minimum requirement of 16 wins for the season (he had 15 before the meeting). So many of Party Together’s runs are good enough to win this race and perhaps Zac Purton can extract the best out of him, but he is a Hong Kong maiden from 20 starts and has seemingly had plenty of chances. HAPPY ICHIBAN was well backed before winning over the course and distance at his last start and on that occasion the blinkers went on for the first time. That victory rated well enough to win this and he appears too big in the early markets also. So the main outlay here is on Incanto Prepared to win, with a smaller outlay on Happy Ichiban at a big price.
