This is a thin race and ARMOR STAR clearly looks the horse to beat. He has been good enough on all three-career starts and clearly had excuses on his last outing when he was posted wide without cover. I like the low draw for him today and the application of blinkers should help him focus and therefore give him a good chance to land back in the winners’ enclosure. The lack of pace around Armor Star is a real positive so he should be able to lead or at worst settle on the back of a would-be challenger for the lead. SUMSTREETSUMWHERE is another horse that has had excuses recently and he ran with merit on his last outing when 3^rdto Winston’s Lad over 1200m. He should appreciate stepping back up in trip to 1400m and can figure in the finish. SO WE JOY was impressive when winning last week and while I like the back-up, the negative is the drop back to 1400m. He also has to carry top weight, but he maps to get a good run through out. Of the remainder, SUPER RED DRAGON needs to raise the bar on his overall form but will settle in a prominent position which will help him. He looks way to short in early betting however and it’s Armor Star that appeals the most as the horse to beat and back.
