WIND N GRASS is another horse that has been on my radar for a few runs now. Tonight he looks well-placed to win his first race in Hong Kong. Last time at Sha Tin his performance was excellent after getting back and sitting wide from barrier 14. He still ran a fast-finishing 6^th, in the process delivering the fourth-fastest last-400m of the entire meeting (22.18s). Wind N Grass gets some weight off his back with Victor Wong, and although I’m far from a fan of his riding, he essentially needs to jump him cleanly from barrier 3 and the horse be able to track just behind a good speed before letting down in the straight. SEVEN HEAVENS has another run in this class after showing better signs his last few starts. He’s not fared well with the barrier, but looks ready to win. One thing in his favour is that there looks good pressure for the lead and the race shape might well suit his chances. BEAUTY SPARK has been pretty genuine through out this prep and is drawn to receive an economical run and can finish close. There isn’t much between his chances and the chances of LITTLE BIRD either. The key for Little Bird might be settling a pair in front of Beauty Spark on the rail, from where he could be a winning contender. Whilst it’s not a big outlay, due to the rider, I have to have something on Wind N Grass to win this, although I do expect his early price to drift. Also watch the price of Seven Heavens with a view to a small outlay to win.
