HEZA BEAUTY has been in excellent form and for one reason or another he hasn’t had much go his way in order for him to win to date. Today he is drawn well to get the right run, and just requires some racing luck to fall his way. SEIZE THE SPIRIT is at a big price early and one has to have a small outlay on him.
Results: 1st @ $4.40 BC (+18.7 units) + 10th (-1 unit) -> (+17.7 units)

SMART LEADER lines up at Sha Tin after running excellent races at Happy Valley recently. The form around those performances is strong and he should be positioned ideally in this. TAKE WHAT YOU NEED made my Sweet In Defeat file following a last-start performance done the straight, which had plenty of things to like about it. He should be peaking now.
Results: 2nd (-4.5 units) + 5th (-2 units) -> (-6.5 units)

5 REWARDING TOGETHER (rp – $4.00)

QUINELLA (1 unit)
REWARDING TOGETHER did a good job on his debut to run 2nd and that was on the same day as main rival MIGHTY VALOR. Whilst the latter will be hard to beat, Rewarding Together’s performance that day wasn’t much inferior, so with natural improvement I expect that he can spring a minor surprise. The quinella with the pair is appealing.
Results: 3rd DH (-4 units) + 3rd DH (-1 unit) -> (-5 units)

13 LONDON LUCKYSTAR (rp – $3.50)
WIN (4 units)
It’s fair to say that LONDON LUCKYSTAR hasn’t exactly had many favourable rides in recent starts and should’ve been a winner in Hong Kong by now. Moreira takes the saddle for this latest dirt assignment and with a sit around midfield during the race, can win it if he gets clear air late.
Result: LATE-SCRATCHED
RACE 10
11 DAN CONTROL (rp – $4.00)
WIN (4 units)
DAN CONTROL is a horse that should get the race shape (map) to suit him perfectly today. There’s good speed that he can “park” behind and that prospect of a more economical run than his recent starts makes him a good value outlay.
Results: 13th (-4 units)

They’ve rolled very quickly there there and Dan Control was under pressure a long way from home unfortunately.
A “break-square”, or very small profit afternoon with the Best Bet winning well. Having reviewed race 4, Smart Leader was absolutely slaughtered unfortunately. Sat three-wide the trip from barrier 3 and wobbled wider around the bend before being asked to go early in the straight. To only get beaten a head was frustrating to watch. Likewise Take What You Need will be put into the black book. He was given a sore back.
The next meeting is Wednesday at Sha Tin and it’s a DAY meeting – Reunification Raceday on July 1.
