This is a reasonably thin Class 4 event to kick off the night and the lightly-raced galloper SELL MY SOLE promotes some interest in this one. He ran well on debut when starting $3.50 and just used a little too much energy early in that race where the pace was solid overall. He should be better for the experience and from a low draw against weaker opposition; he gets his chance to break through. HARRIER JET doesn’t win out of turn, but was positioned perfectly last time to land the spoils and obviously has claims again, although finding a similar spot will be tougher. KING’S RACE is capable and he maps well to get an economical run on the speed, but the concern for him is that he is a little one-paced and might be vulnerable to others with a better turn-of-foot. TRAVEL DATUK shouldn’t be far away, but is simply too short on a win line given the number of chances he’s been given. While HERCULES should be better suited over 1200m but lacks early pace and therefore barrier 1 isn’t the advantage that it might otherwise be. Sell My Sole is the horse to beat, however short enough early on.
