GOLDEN LINK is a lightly-raced and improving type that ran well at his second start. That day he finished very strongly in a race-best 22.77s last-400m and highlighted his potential. Golden Link beat home Sky Darci (who was unlucky) and that horse was impressive at Happy Valley at his next start. Moreira takes the ride and from a handy draw, he can settle far closer in the running and even though he still looks green he’s clearly the horse to beat. With more luck he could have won his last start, frankly he was given a sore back. MAGIC SUPREME’S win had plenty of merit last time and even though it came on a wet track, he’s drawn to be given every chance again. He showed great improvement on his previous efforts, so the question is whether that was down to the track or not? SMILING SUCCESS wasn’t given a great ride last time and is one of the pace influences here. He’s capable and looks too big in early markets. JADE THEATRE was okay on the dirt last time and returns to the turf. Purton staying with him is a positive, but he still needs to find some improvement. HAPPY VICTORY goes up in trip and ran well without luck last time. He might be better suited to the distance now. Golden Link is the horse to beat, but is a bad price.
