32 units Strategy

best outlays

RACE 5

2 KINDA COOL (rp – $2.60)

WIN (6.5 units)

2 with 3

QUINELLA (1.5 units)

KINDA COOL has run two very good races to begin his Hong Kong career and is well drawn to break through today. The shape of the race should be more suitable than his last start and Purton can rate him to win. SKY FIELD has had an injury break following a strong debut and is a good quinella option. He’s a good quinella option.

Results: 3rd (-6.5 units) + 2nd (-1.5 units) -> (-8 units)

NEXT BEST OUTLAYS

RACE 2

3 WINNING BREW (rp – $2.70)

WIN (6 units)

14 GREEN ENVY (rp – $11.00)

WIN (1 unit)

WINNING BREW caught my eye before his debut on the dirt and ran a top race all things considered. I like his switch to the turf and even though he’s drawn the outside barrier he can overcome it. GREEN ENVY is a massive price and he is a genuine upset hope, so I’m happy to have a speck outlay on him.

Results: 1st @ $5.50 BC (+27 units) + 9th (-1 unit) -> (+26 units)

RACE 3

5 PERFECT MATCH (rp – $2.80)

WIN (5.5 units)

PERFECT MATCH looks the clear and obvious leader in the sprint feature and with a light weight he can lead all the way. He was good last start and won a similar event in January, so is clearly the horse for them all to beat.

Results: 2nd (-5.5 units)

RACE 8

1 SOUTHERN LEGEND (rp – $3.60)

WIN (4.5 units)

Group 1 winner SOUTHERN LEGEND has be in super form and this looks a nice race for him to stamp his class. Yes, he concedes weight to all, however he maps to get the favours in front and will be hard to run down.

Result:5th (-4.5 units)

RACE 11

8 BIZ POWER (rp – $5.00)

WIN (2 units)

6 WIND N GRASS (rp – $10.00)

WIN (1 unit)

Whilst GOOD LUCK FRIEND is the horse to beat in the last race, there is a lot of pace in the event and he’s very short. There’s decent value betting both BIZ POWER and WIND N GRASS to cause a minor upset.

Results: 3rd (-2 units) + 6th (-1 units) -> (-3 units)

RACE 7

1 FULL POWER (rp – $6.50)

WIN (1 unit)

13 WONDER EXPRESS (rp – $6.50)

WIN (1 unit)

3 ENJOY LIFE (rp – $8.00)

WIN (0.5 unit)

Race 7 isn’t a clear-cut event, however I feel the market has moved to much towards the mounts of Moreira and Purton to the extent where one has to have small outlays on those horses (FULL POWER and ENJOY LIFE) as well as WONDER EXPRESS.

Results: 5th (-1 unit) + 14th (-1 unit) + 4th (-0.5 unit) -> (-2.5 units)

best each way

RACE 9

12 MERRYGOWIN (rp – $11.00)

WIN (0.5 unit) PLACE (1 unit)

MERRYGOWIN caught my eye last time after having few favours in the running. He outperformed his market price and looks close to being in peak form to win.

Result: 12th (-1.5 units)

Overall result for 32 units strategy

+1 UNIT (3% PROFIT)

After an early mark, watching an impressive Winning Brew win after being widely available at $5.50 through out the day, the afternoon became a battle with some “stiff placings” that meant a “chop out” for the strategy.

Some handy Quinella results through out the analysis for those who play that way added a little joy.

With 7 meetings to go Zac Purton leads Joao Moreira by 4 in the jockey’s championship and we move to the Valley on Wednesday!

I look forward to your company then!

Cheers
