This is a relatively even race and plenty of runners that make the line-up have shown little form leading in to this event. NOBLE DESIRE promotes some interest with the 4.5kg claim of Jerry Chau, and some of his recent efforts have contained merit. He was taken too far out of his ground last time over the track and trip and there is no doubt he can settle closer, if they desire. I expect that from barrier 2, he will be asked to sit closer and with a little luck, he can certainly feature when they sprint for home. CASIMIRO is holding his form quite well this term, particularly over this course and distance, and against this field looks more than capable of winning another race. GALLANT LEGACY leaves the impression that he will appreciate the step up to 1400m but he will need some luck from a wide gate. That said, the field doesn’t possess a lot of natural early pace, so he might be able to find an economical enough forward position. Nonetheless, Gallant Legacy has some upside along with FAST PACE, who hit the line well on his debut and also looks like he’ll be better suited over 1400m. The draw will make things very hard for him however. HANG’S DECISION doesn’t have much early pace but he brings the same form as Casimiro and could run into the finish late, particularly if they over do the early speed. Not an easy race with the leads being Noble Desire and Casimiro.
