There is a horse or two that I’m keen to have small plays on in this event, starting with LITTLE GENERAL. His recent form against much better opposition has been creditable and he maps to get a nice run in the race with Joao Moreira booked to ride. Little General leaves the impression he should be suited by the step up in distance to 1800m for his return to the lowest grade. CURLING LUXURY has been runner-up on his last two starts and this front-running type should be there for a long time again, although the presence of MISTER MONTE isn’t ideal, as they might pressure each other for the lead. GOLDEN GENERAL has been getting closer to a win and providing he can hold the form from his last outing when a strong 2^ndto Humble Steed, then he could land the spoils. He looks a “tasty” price early. YOU HAVE MY WORD has had one run in Class 5 for a win and with the blinkers going back on following a small “freshen-up”, might run better. I’m happy having small win outlays on Little General here though and Golden General.
