The feature event on the card is the Group 3 Lion Rock Trophy and this appears to be a good chance for BEAUTY LEGACY to atone for an unlucky run when he last competed. He would have gone pretty close to winning an easier contest on that occasion but for being held-up in the home straight. Beauty Legacy steps up to the mile, which is no issue, and although this is a much stronger race, with only 51.5kg to carry under the handicap conditions, he looks more than capable based on his best-rated performances. SOUTHERN LEGEND took the scalp of Beauty Generation last start in the Group 1 Champions Mile, and at the end of the day, against inferior opposition only carries 3kg more. He has to be a decent chance to win again over his pet distance. KA YING STAR will prove more effective with Chad Schofield taking over the reins. He looks like the natural leader and if he can be rated right in front (not too slow, but not overdoing things either), then he could easy “steal” the race. Of the rest, many horses are competing ‘out of the handicap’, but PRECIOUSSHIP has posted some impressive enough numbers this season, the question is; is he going as well now as he was then? If prices allow, then I’ll be looking to outlay small on Beauty Legacy and Ka Ying Star to win this.
