The two main chances in this event are BRIGHT KID and GENERAL TRUMP. The former was given a peach of a ride from Purton when he scored at Happy Valley last time and providing he can bring that level of form to Sha Tin, then he will be very competitive once again. He should land in a good spot just behind the leaders from a favourable draw of barrier 1 and has solid claims. Much the same applies to General Trump who also should find a good spot from his draw, and he had clear excuses last time when Hamelin gave him a poor ride. The horse is fit and racing well and if the rider is a touch more positive early, then he might be able to score again. FIGHTER BOY impressed me when winning a recent trial and has shown glimpses of potential from a handful of starts. He warrants respect and he might be able to take a closer position than I currently have him mapped, which would enhance his chances. STOCK LEGEND is on the quick back-up from Wednesday on the all-weather, and whilst he did nothing there, his form leading in wasn’t too bad and this race might set up nicely for him to improve on his finishing position. The draw and where he’ll get too is of some concern however. This isn’t a race that I have high confidence about with a few question marks around the leading chances, but General Trump is my leaning.
