The newcomer here WINNING BREW looks a quite exciting galloper. His work and trials have impressed me and he looks more than capable of starting his Hong Kong career on the perfect note with a win. Winning Brew’s most recent trial effort behind Hot King Prawn and in front of Thanks Forever on the all-weather track was excellent work. Whilst he wasn’t naturally fast away he travelled comfortably through out the trial and looked to have plenty in hand on the line. I would have possibly liked to see him have another trial under his belt, but he is arriving on fresher legs than most and looks hard to beat. LITTLE THUNDER is a genuine contender here. His last start included a win over the course and distance and he has the ability to settle handy in the run. It is an interesting booking for COOLCELEB, with Zac Purton having ridden him once prior, for a win. That victory came at the end of last season over the course and distance and with 25 days between runs (he has had 27 days this time), so there is a sense of timing about this runner. I am inclined to give DOLLAR REWARD another chance with his overall record on this surface being good even though his last two efforts have been poor. He gets the 4.5kg claimer on board and is capable. Winning Brew is short early, and his price isn’t easy to find, but he looks promising, so I want to try to be on him. Dollar Reward is worth a very small speck at a big price.
