This is a really open contest. If YEE CHEONG PEGASUS can find the form that saw him run 2^nd to Good Luck Friend three runs back then he will prove hard to beat. He obviously had clear excuses last time (let’s not talk about that anymore) and hopefully he can take closer order this time during the running. TRUE LEGEND defeated Good Luck Friend and it rated reasonably well. It was no fluke and the application of the cheek-pieces made a significant difference to his performance. Can he repeat that? If so, he looks over the odds early on. XPONENTIAL had every possible chance when runner-up to Hin Yuen Swiftness last time, and with the 4.5kg claim, I’m expecting that the market might over-bet him. The claim will obviously help, but I doubt I will have him as short as the market has him. Outside of those raced gallopers, the newcomers CIGAR BUDDIES and SELL MY SOLE have each impressed me enough in their work and trials to suggest they are capable of being very competitive. That said, it’s a tough race, so outlay small, the lead is for True Legend early, he’s too big in the market, and use my prices accordingly to consider backing others as things develop.
