I like the move of bringing WAR OF COURAGE back to racing over 1000m, and now he’s drawn the outside rail he should get every chance to notch his third win in his first preparation. He fought quite bravely on his last outing over 1200m after doing some early work and a similar effort will see him hard to beat this afternoon. GOOD VIEW CLARICO clearly has upside and has shown good ability when winning his last two starts. Today with a rise in class Good View Clarico will carry a lighter weight, and Zac Purton as a result has been replaced by Ben So, but that should mean securing a decent price for him to win again. DIAMOND BRILLIANT is drawn the wrong side of the track but perhaps coming back in distance is key for his chances also, as he has seemingly had his opportunity over 1200m recently and was found wanting late in the race. BALTIC WHISPER is a three-time course and distance winner and is another with genuine claims. He should be able to park just behind the leaders and if they overdo things he’ll be in a position to take advantage late. War Of Courage is the lead, he gets a few favours and will be hard to beat, but I respect Good View Clarico. Use my prices accordingly.
