best outlays

RACE 5

6 CHEVALIER PRINCE (rp – $2.30)

WIN (7.5 units)

6 with 11 & 7

QUINELLA (0.5 unit each, 1 unit total)

CHEVALIER PRINCE is my best of the afternoon and going off his debut effort he looks to have more talent than his opposition here. The small concern is his inexperience and greenness, but with Purton riding he should be in good hands to progress from his first start. WINSTON’S LAD and MIGHTY POWER are at big prices and worth including in quinellas.

Results: 2nd (-7.5 units) + 4th & 7th (-1 unit) -> (-8.5 units)

NEXT BEST OUTLAYS

RACE 3

6 JUDY’S STAR (rp – $2.60)

WIN (4 units)

1 DRAGON HAS LANDED (rp – $8.00)

WIN (1 unit)

JUDY’S STAR is crying out for a decent ride and is ready to win if he can get it. DRAGON HAS LANDED seems too big a price to me. I liked his recent trial and the addition of blinkers is a positive gear change for him.

Results: 1st @ $3.40 BC (+9.6 units) + 11th (-1 unit) -> (+8.6 units)

RACE 10

5 MIG ENERGY (rp – $3.50)

WIN (3.5 units)

1 YOUNG LEGEND (rp – $6.00)

WIN (2 units)

MIG ENERGY ran a super race last start and if he’s ridden with more intent early then I expect him to run very well in the last and he’s clearly the horse to beat for me. YOUNG LEGEND was noted in a SID to have been ridden with little intent last start and going off his previous effort he can figure with the right ride.

Results: 5th (-3.5 units) + 3rd (-2 units) -> (-5.5 units)

RACE 7

9 REYNOLDS (rp – $9.00)

WIN (1 unit)

3 XIANG YIN (rp – $10.00)

WIN (1 unit)

8 with 9 & 3

QUINELLA (1 unit each, 2 units total)

There are two horses that present at big prices and are worth small win bets, REYNOLDS and XIANG YIN. CHEERFUL LEADER is the horse to beat and taking quinellas with the aforementioned pair and him holds good value also.

Results: 8th (-1 unit) + 4th (-1 unit) + 3rd (-2 units) -> (-4 units)

each way outlay

RACE 8

8 UNCLE STEVE (rp – $4.00)

WIN (1.5 units) PLACE (2.5 units)

UNCLE STEVE showed last time that he was in far better shape than his previous three starts and whilst it’s not a high confidence race, he’s worth an each way outlay.

Result: 6th (-4 units)

Overall result for 27 units strategy

-13.4 UNITS  (50% LOSS)

Mig Energy was only fair in the last there and Young Legend just couldn’t quicken with Inner Flame and President’s Choice.

Uncle Steve was fair also, but there were still some very good results today and we were very stiff with the best getting hammered at the start. That’s cost a small fortune!

I’ll crack on to Happy Valley after licking a best bet wound from today.

Catch you then.

Cheers

Hutch.
