There appear to be two main chances in this Class 5 event. RED BRICK FIGHTER has been very good his last two race starts. Two runs back, he closed better than anything else over 1200m at Happy Valley and indicated that he is close to a win, and then on the all-weather over 1650m at his last start, he just worked way too hard on the lead. Zac Purton jumps on board, and providing he doesn’t have to work too hard again from his wide alley (and the map suggest he won’t) then he will go close. HUMBLE STEED looks the primary danger. He won nicely at Happy Valley last time under a good ride, but he still has upside and this will be just his 10^th career start. In addition, he maps to get a soft run again. GOLDEN GENERAL might improve if ridden with a touch more patience, but ultimately he shown himself to be pretty limited. HURRICANE HUNTER hasn’t been far away at his last few starts in this grade, but has a racing style that means he always requires things outside of his control to go his way. A better option than him might be TREASURE CHEST. He has been poor his last few starts in fairness, but his 4^thto Casimiro earlier this season was good enough to suggest that with a repeat of that level, he could go close here. Apprentice Jerry Chau (claims 4.5 kg) will have his first ride in Hong Kong aboard him so will be watched closely.
