Six of the 11 runners in this event competed in Race 580 won by SUNSHINE WARRIOR – it was an event where less than 2-lengths covered eight of the first 12 home! It was run at a slow tempo and you could probably make a case for a number of horses that finished in behind to turn the tables on each other. There was no doubt that BEST ALLIANCE was very good. He was caught up in traffic when the race got serious and then sprinted home in a race-best final-200m of 11.26. That particular race shape didn’t suit ALPHA HEDGE either, who has posted the best figures in this line up, but he requires a truer tempo through out to be a better chance. ENFOLDING also closed well and shouldn’t be far away. SUCH A HAPPINESS might appreciate the slightly easier surface underfoot at Happy Valley and both his runs for the popular South African-trainer, Tony Millard, have been solid. He will be happy with those stats. In an open race, CHAIRMAN LO might knock them all off. The last-start winner was solid doing the job albeit in a lower grade last time, but gets a light weight again with the rise back to Class 3 and should get a soft run from gate 1. He looks a solid value play for a small each way outlay.
