best outlays
RACE 3
4 YEE CHEONG PEGASUS (rp – $1.80)
WIN (7 units)
4 with 2
QUINELLA (1 unit)
YEE CHEONG PEGASUS rates well clear of his opposition on his recent runs and is my best of the day. He maps to get a good enough sit behind a genuine speed and I expect him to sprint strongly off that to win. GOOD SHOT is the clear second-best chance in the race and presents as a good quinella option.
Results: 2nd (-7 units) + 7th (-1 unit) -> (-8 units)
NEXT BEST OUTLAYS
RACE 6
3 BE READY (rp – $2.50)
WIN (6 units)
BE READY looks ideally placed to break through for his first Hong Kong win. There’s genuine speed on paper here and from barrier 3 Zac Purton can stalk this before making his run into the straight.
Result: 3rd (-6 units)
RACE 8
6 WHISKEY NEAT (rp – $4.80)
WIN (3 units)
6 with 3 & 9
QUINELLA (1 unit each, 2 units total)
WHISKEY NEAT put in his best Hong Kong performance last start and now looks ready to win. Joao Moreira has been booked and from a good barrier can land closer in the running, which will help his cause. There’s value in the quinellas with ISLAND SHINE and CALIFORNIA RAD, given where I rate the chances of Whiskey Neat.
Results: 7th (-3 units) + 3rd & 1st (-2 units) -> (-5 units)
each way outlays
RACE 7
9 CHAIRMAN LO (rp – $6.50)
WIN (1 unit) PLACE (2 units)
When winning his last start CHAIRMAN LO showed that he had the ability to do so again. In this race tonight, even though it is competitive, he’s the clear value given that and his likely good mapping position. Happy to have a small each way outlay on him.
Result: 5th (-3 units)
RACE 9
9 GREEN LUCK (rp – $6.50)
WIN (1 unit) PLACE (2 units)
GREEN LUCK is another runner on the card that has presented at a good each way price early on. Again he competes in a competitive race, but I expect there to be enough pressure through out for him to charge into the finish late.
Result: 8th (-3 units)
Overall result for 25 unit strategy
-25 UNITS (100% LOSS)
Firstly, congratulations Zac Purton! 5 winners on a night at the Valley is a brilliant achievement given the fine lines between winning and losing there.
Speaking of fine lines it certainly was worse than green luck for Green Luck, he had zero luck and was charging into the finish before being carved up by Mission Tycoon and Alfie Chan. That’s again as they say racing.
Cowboys don’t cry and thanks to new users who joined tonight, including this person who had a good one.
And yes, I better get get some shut eye before Get On and also Sha Tin this Saturday!
Catch you then
