Racing back on the all-weather for this event and there are a number of the usual suspects lining up. EXCEL DELIGHT will be firm in the market on the back of a string of solid efforts over the course and distance, and whilst he is a fair favourite in the event, I expect that he will be a touch over bet. The two runners I am most interested in here at bigger prices are STRIKING MR Cand M M JOHNNY. The former has been a transformed galloper since a throat operation and has won both his starts over this course and distance. His recent trial was sound enough and he will work forward from a wide alley and might take some catching. M M Johnny is a lightly-raced horse having his first start for Me Tsui, a trainer who has a good record with his gallopers competing on this surface. M M Johnny’s recent trial was good and he should be kept safe. The drop back in grade will help DOLLAR REWARD who likes the dirt surface and he can potentially figure in the finish and I expect that WAYFOONG CHARMER won’t be too far away. I’m happy to have small outlays on Striking Mr C and M M Johnny to win this.
