A field of five horses will compete for the feature event, the Queen Mother Memorial Cup over 2400m, with all of them lining up over 2000m behind HELENE LEADINGSTAR in Race 549 a month ago. Helene Leadingstar, formerly known as Leicester in Australia and the winner of The South Australian Derby, will be hardest to beat under the handicap conditions of the race. He arrives in good form having won his last two starts and if anything is better suited here over 2400m. EAGLE WAY will probably attract some market support on the back-up from last week when he ran 3^rdat G1 level to Exultant in the QEII Cup. In addition, Zac Purton has ridden him once for a win. HELENE CHARISMA can run well although he doesn’t win out of turn. Last year in this race on a Good to Yielding track he failed when Helene Leadingstar lead the field up before weakening into 3^rd. Overall for today however, with the potential of a muddling tempo, I don’t want to get seriously involved here even though Helene Leadingstar to me is clearly the horse to beat.
