GOOD DAYS has clearly had excuses on his last couple of starts and with the step up to 2200m, plus the booking of Zac Purton he is going to be popular in the market. There’s no doubting he can win, especially if he isn’t too far from the pace from a decent draw. The additional fact that he is also a proven winner over the course and distance means he is clearly a leading chance. GALA NIGHT looks the natural leader and his win at the city circuit earlier this season (Race 465) rated well so he might take some catching. He attempts this distance for the first time, but I think he might be looking for this sort of a trip as a rather “one-paced” conveyance. HAPPY ROCKY is well handicapped and although the ageing galloper isn’t the force he was, in this event over 2200m – a trip he’s won three times over – he can prove competitive. The drop-back down in grade should also assist GIANT TURTLE who has been struggling for form but might be able to turn it around. Where Victor Wong will have him in the running is the question however? In early betting, there isn’t great value around, so even though Good Days is on top, use my prices and play small!
