WAR OF COURAGE hasn’t run a bad race in his rookie season which consists of five starts for two wins and as many second-placings. The speedy galloper steps up to 1200m and around a bend for the first time, but the son of Declaration Of War might be better suited over that journey and his early pace can offset a wide draw. War Of Courage’s overall numbers and depth of form have him look a leading chance in this and a decent price early. BRIGHT VISION is an interesting runner given his performance on his second Hong Kong start when he closed stylishly (23.16 final-400m) behind subsequent winner Fantasy. He should settle closer during the running from barrier 4 today and with the benefit of that outing looks close to being ready to fire. KA YING LEGEND demolished rivals over this track and trip earlier this month and that was just his third start this season. The track bias at that stage of the day certainly helped his cause but he has always shown potential and no doubt the market will be a good guide. ELIGERE brings the same form (from Race 553) and has claims. CALIFORNIA TURBO has only won one from 19 in Hong Kong, but there was plenty of merit in his last run when sitting three-wide without cover and working hard for most of the race. Joao Moreira is booked to ride him this time and that looks a positive, but that might severely compress the price you need to take if backing him.
