SUPER POWER MAN was an impressive winner on his second career start when making every post a winner, and although there has been 2 months between runs, he clearly looks a nice progressive type who should be hard to beat today. His recent trial (Foodie Princess was in the same trial) was sound and from gate 2 he should settle handy and prove hard to run down. EXCEL DELIGHT is an obvious danger. He has proven himself to be consistent throughout the season and operates well on the dirt surface. ELITE BOY also likes the surface but he is a very unreliable galloper, who also needs to find the lead on his terms to show his best. The inside draw might backfire for him if he doesn’t step well and Super Power Man crosses him early – the first 200m will be most interesting. I like the manner in which THOU SHALL SING hit the line on his first run on this surface and he was heavily punted late in the betting. He can track the pace in this event and must be respected on a fair surface. He’s worth a small outlay at his early price, with Super Power Man being the main win play here.
