As is often the case with Hong Kong racing, but particularly stark here, getting a race “right” is all about getting the map right. HARMONY N HOME is ready to win and the upgrade in rider to Zac Purton from Alex Lai is significant. He posted a meeting-best final-400m (22.71) last time he raced which was behind E Master in Race 486 (where GOLDEN GLORY, WINNER’S HEART, DAILY DELIGHT and ALL TIMES GRATEFUL all took part) and he looks ready to win. However, where does Harmony N Home end up from the outside draw? He maps to be working wide on the track most of the way. SUPER ALLIANCES will be popular following his last run, where a more patient ride in the first half of the event resulted in a much better outcome overall. He maps to get a soft trip on the back of the pace and that might make all the difference, as it did on his last outing when he ran through the line well. Of the remainder, MASTER ALBERT has had the perfect run in his last two wins and will find it harder this time from the draw with extra weight, but he is in good form. LUCKY QUALITY has worked well in blinkers but he still looks as though he has a bit to learn. I’m happy to outlay on Super Alliances to win this and maybe you can consider small quinellas with the other three in my selections if their prices warrant.
