There looks like there’s going to be plenty of pace in this event. PING HAI BRAVO will be popular with the public given his profile of two wins and as many seconds from five starts. The race sets up nicely for him, with a likely strong tempo, which might mean he can keep his short, sharp sprint for later in the race. The consistent thing with him, is he sprints quickly (10.74 sectional between the 400 and 200m last time) but then levels out. His final-200m last start was almost a second slower than his second to last 200m! But his acceleration from the top of the straight was 5^th-best at the meeting. I think KA YING LEGEND has the ability to beat him. He will strip fitter for two runs back this preparation and he was very good behind Transcendent, and we might get a lead as to the strength of that form earlier in the day with Unique Treasure – It should be noted though that the level of opposition here is stronger. If he can box seat from the gate, then he could be hard to beat. STAR LUCK and BIG FORTUNE are both a part of the likely early burn, but each remains in good form and have claims, along with NORDIC WARRIOR who might settle a touch closer from a low draw also. It’s a competitive race and I think more-so than the market has it early, so use my prices accordingly and keep spend low.
