I don’t expect that there will be much pace in this event, but that may not be an issue for UNIQUE TREASURE. In the map I have him being able to sit forward with 52kg on his back, and he comes through a decent form race last time when 4^th to Transcendent (Fantasy ran 2^nd and has won since). Unique Treasure doesn’t have much of a turn of foot, but if he can position himself prominently and wind it up from the front, then I expect him to take some beating. VICTORIAM looks the main danger. He was no match at all for Wellington on his last outing and clearly had his chance, but that sort of performance should see him very competitive against this field. Barrier 11 isn’t ideal, but with a positive ride early he can certainly feature. CALIFORNIA TURBO boxed on well enough at Happy Valley last time and has been holding his form relatively well, but he doesn’t win out of turn and his Sha Tin record isn’t great overall, which is the negative. TAKE WHAT YOU NEED has the Purton/Moore combination, which will attract plenty of market support, but he was disappointing last time even though his second to Seattle Choice prior to that is good enough to win this race. GREAT TREASURE isn’t without a hope at his best either at a very big price. The lead is to Unique Treasure, although if Victoriam get’s out in price, he’s worth backing, so take your pick between the two.
