EXCEL DELIGHT is clearly the horse to beat in this event. He finished ahead of several rivals when runner-up to Touch Of Luck over the track and trip a month ago and a similar performance should see him go one better tonight. VIVA COUNCIL managed to beat him two runs back, but perhaps Excel Delight leading that day wasn’t suitable? That said, Viva Council has claims once again, while STRATHCLYDE also brings that form reference (Race 429). However, the two runners that pique my interest here are JOYFUL MOMENTS and DAILY BEAUTY. The former has a terrific record when dropping in to this grade (5:1-3-0) and has won twice over this course and distance, but the main issue is his rider and his lack of wins overall. Daily Beauty’s run over this track and trip last start was a lot better than it first appeared and he should be hitting the line well.
