There are certainly better races on the card than the opener, however there still looks to be some value around. HURRICANE HUNTER will be popular in the market with Joao Moreira booked to ride and his latest effort when 3^rdto Regency Gem over the Sha Tin mile was a decent effort. That also helped contribute to what is a sound record in the class (4:2-0-1), and he could certainly win, but I am unable to get him as short as the market has him in early betting. It’s also a bad map given he is a backmarker and I don’t see there being much pace in the race. LIVERBIRD STAR will settle prominently and although he finished behind Hurricane Hunter last time he could turn the tables with a softer run this time. SPICY REALLY will also map nicely and his recent trial was encouraging. He is likely to do no work early and considering he is more lightly-raced than most, he could be open to a touch of improvement. BLAZING PARTNERS hit the line well last time but he also gets back in the field, along with KWAI CHUNG ELITE who clearly had excuses due to a mishap at the start. Not keen on the favourite at the price so best to shop the market with small outlays on Liverbird Star and Spicy Really the way I’d be leaning at this stage.
