summary

WINNING WAYS’ last three runs have all been good enough for him to prove highly competitive in this event and I particularly liked his last run down the straight course when on the worst part of the track. The concern here is where does he end up from the wide draw? I have him back and wide, so he appears as though he’ll need some luck and a well-timed ride from Bayliss. That is also an issue for NATURAL FLARE and PRECIOUS SWEETIE who are both in good form and capable of a win here, if they get the right run. But the best option appears to be Zac Purton once again with LUCKY THOUGHT. He was good when third in the race won by General Iron last time and he should enjoy a slightly easier first part of the race on this occasion even though he jumps from barrier 12. The market is going to be very interesting with the newcomer DR RESPECT. His recent all-weather trial was sound (although he has had six trials in total!) and there appears to be some ability there. Again he has drawn wide but he’s been placed in a pretty thin contest to make his debut in, so don’t let him slip under your guard. Play small here, if at all.

The pace should be GOOD here, but overall it’s not an easy race to map. HAPPY GOOD GUYS can lead from DR PROACTIVE and LUCKY THOUGHT. DR RESPECT could also be asked to go forward from barrier 11.
