summary

They’re racing on the turf for the second event and the drop in grade looks a key for both NICE KICK and MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR. The latter is a winner over the course and distance and has hinted he is close to a win given his last couple of performances. Majestic Endeavour won his only start in this grade and another positive is Zac Purton teaming up with Caspar Fownes (11 wins from 81). Nice Kick hasn’t won out of turn, but drops to this grade for the first time and should get a soft run from the barrier. He makes appeal as well given recent runs in Class 4, which actually haven’t been too bad at all. RUMINARE carries 2.5kg more for his last win at the track and trip and that was just his second attempt over the 1,400m. Any pattern favouring leaders on the “C+3” will help his cause. NEVER BETTER should be running on late, as he does, but the one first from 46 starts record makes him an uninspiring proposition on a win line. Nice Kick is the win bet here with Majestic Endeavour plus take a quinella with them both.

speed

I expect the pace to be GOOD here with RUMINARE leading from SURE SUPREME. MASSIVE POWER and ROCKAGE can also work forward from DISTRICT EXPRESS. I expect that MAJESTIC ENDEAVOUR and NICE KICK to be positioned just behind the horses setting the speed.
