summary

There is not much pace in this event and PING HAI TREASURE, with the switch to this surface can find the lead and prove hard to beat. He was very good when working hard on the speed in his last couple of starts and this seems a far more suitable race for him. Ping Hai Treasure won his only start in France on the Fibresand before being exported to Hong Kong. In this event he can find the lead, or if he can easily secure a good position on the speed, he looks hardest to beat. RED ELYSEES will be suited by the pace angle and his form reads well, but whether he can be as effective on this surface is up for debate. That said he’s a reasonable price to find out. NAMJONG PLUS remains in good form and might be suited to racing on the dirt, but the lack of pace would be a concern. RIGHT HONOURABLE, with the new apprentice Chan on board is interesting. It’s just a tricky map for him on paper, but he could be a quinella option. Ping Hai Treasure is the horse to beat here though.

speed

PING HAI TREASURE and RED ELYSEES are the two likely pace influences in this and the overall speed isn’t likely to be quick. GRAND CHANCELLOR maps well, but there are plenty of spots up for grabs here in a race with a messy map behind the two leaders.
