There should be good pace in this event with a number of runners in it that like to go forward. One of those is WINNING CONTROLLER who is on the 10-day back up. He doesn’t have to get in a speed battle early, as he did on his last outing when duelling from the 800m mark, and a more conservative approach here with the apprentice’s claim could see him win. RULETHEROOST was quite a solid when he won his last outing after covering ground on a steady tempo. He was game in the run to the line and he should get a more economical trip this time around. Ruletheroost’s last win was his first run over the course and distance too so one could fairly forecast some natural improvement. FAITHFUL TRINITY has been competing in stronger races than what he faces on this occasion and although the barrier isn’t ideal, Joao Moreira has been booked and he can certainly figure in the finish. The pace should be at least good, which will help him, given I expect they might ride him quietly early from the barrier. ROYAL RACER might appreciate the step up in trip and his form prior to his last run is good enough to give him claims in this contest. Winning Controller is a small win outlay here and there might be some value in the quinellas with him, Ruletheroost and Faithful Trinity.
