There will be a play in this event with ORIENTAL ELITE. He was terrific on his fresh-up run this season over 1,000m when he flashed home from back in the field (22.42 fifth-best final-400m) and he will no doubt strip fitter for that run. He will relish the move up in trip, has a good barrier and Zac Purton sticks with him. A similar case can be made for LE TERROIR who also has been flashing home late in his races. He just needs to be able to take slightly closer order in the early stages and if he is able to do that, then he can figure in the finish. KHAKI can win again in this grade but the wide draw will make it difficult for him. That said, the form around Champion’s Way is rock solid and should he find a good spot then he comes right in to calculations. It’s not going to be easy for him though from barrier 12. The debutant FARM BUMPER has shown some potential in his work and trials and might be one that can surprise a touch, if the main chances get too far back in the field. Oriental Elite is the horse to beat here though and my best on a low-confident night.
