The two main chances in this event are INVINCIBLE MISSILE and SUPER STAR. The former was most unlucky when badly held-up behind subsequent winner Right Choice, but he did have the race run to suit and was entitled to run on. That said, Moreira is booked for the ride here and he will be hard to beat following a pretty tidy-looking dirt trial. That said, he might also be over bet and for that reason, I’m happy to go with Super Star on an each way basis. He was terrific when scoring off a slow tempo last start and closed with the sixth-best final-400m (22.39) at the meeting. I think he can upset the likely short-priced favourite and is a great play. He has a wide draw, which de Sousa will need to be right on top of his game to overcome, but there’s good speed expected overall in the race for him to settle off before sprinting late. HAPPY FORCE has the apprentice’s claim and his recent form is hard to fault. If the track is suiting those horses that race on-pace and close to the rail then he and PLANET STAR should both be upgraded. I’m comfortable though, all things being equal, to back Super Star.
