There will be a couple of runners worthwhile outlaying on in this event, CRAIG’S STAR and SAM’S LOVE. Craig’s Star has been excellent at his last two runs over 1,200m and now with the step up in trip he looks primed to atone. In a race where the tempo should be genuine, he will be well suited by being able to be positioned following the main speed before unleashing a strong burst in the straight. If the pace is solid as expected, then Sam’s Love should be powering home at the finish also. The pattern of the day went against him last time but he ran on well and with a wide gate on this occasion, it might well put plenty off backing him, thus providing a point or two of extra value. CHAIRMAN LO will get a good run from barrier 2 but has proven quite weak in a finish thus far and really had his opportunity to win last start. VOYAGE STAR might have to work a touch from the wide draw and could be vulnerable late. A better option might be DIAMOND DRAGON who will appreciate the move up in trip and he closed well behind Voyage Star last time and gets 4.5kg in his favour this time. I’m happy to bet both Craig’s Star and Sam’s Love here though.
