The last race is wide open and there is very little between a number of runners in this line up, and with the lack of pace, it might play in to the hands of CORDYCEPS again. He should find the lead easily enough and will take some catching. NOT USUAL TALENT finished second to him, meets him a touch better at the weights and if he can take a close enough position he can run well. Not Usual Talent performed well in a recent trial that WITNESS HUNTER won and both look primed to go close. Witness Hunter has the blinkers applied for the first time and he maps to receive a soft run from a low gate therefore can return a lot better finishing position this time around. BEAUTY SPIRIT is another that might go forward and possibly contest the lead with his effort behind Happy Force and Picken giving him more than solid claims here. Horses 1 and 5 look like early overs, but I don’t want to be outlaying much here, so a small unit boxed quinella gives the opportunity for a decent return from the best chances as I assess them.
