CHAMPION’S WAY is two from two so far in Hong Kong and he has been particularly impressive winning those races – he is the best of the afternoon. Both victories have been at the city course (Happy Valley), but if anything the switch to Sha Tin should be a positive for him. He rises in grade and has drawn the outside barrier, but his wins have rated highly enough for him to take some beating in this event. Regan Bayliss will need a work a little magic from stall 12, but with cover he’s the horse to beat. SOLAR WAI WAI is the obvious threat. He was outstanding when overcoming some race interference and still managing to get the bob-in last time and Zac Purton sticks with him. He does however need to raise the bar, which of course given he’s lightly and carrying a light weight is very possible. HARD PROMISE remains in good form. He has won two of his last three starts and the apprentice’s claim basically offsets the 6-point penalty he received for the win, so he remains a leading contender. PRANCE DRAGON will find this a little tougher than when he shared a win last time, but he looks to be holding his form quite well in track work.
