A low-grade event kicks off the card and it might be worth taking a chance on PERFECT CHOICE, even though he is still a Hong Kong maiden after 18 local starts. Perfect Choice has had a stable transfer to Richard Gibson, moved well in recent work and trials and his early season form at Happy Valley rated quite well. It is an awkward draw, but there looks plenty of pace and taking a chance that he has genuinely improved, he could win. SHOW MISSION has obvious claims again with Zac Purton sticking with him following his win over the minimum trip at the city course on his last outing. RAICHU has come up the early favourite and although he might get an economical run from a low gate, he is also well-exposed and is easy to take on at a price that is too short for me. In a very weak field, KEEP GOING might appreciate coming back to the city circuit and some of his form this term has been good enough for him to figure here even though his barrier is ‘niggly’. I’m happy though to open the evening by having a small each way outlay on Perfect Choice.
