RAGING BLITZKREIG is likely to be a short-priced favourite in this event following his second to boom sprinter Regency Legend. He is racing in terrific order at the moment and probably deserves more plaudits than he has gained, but ultimately he is the winner of only one race from 19 starts in Hong Kong. He is the horse to beat, and I expect him to work forward from a tricky draw, but HINCHINLOVE is also a genuine contender. Hinchinlove comes through a race (357) won by Waikuku that rated well and I don’t see the drop back to 1,200m as a negative. The bigger issue for him is where he gets to from the draw – it’s a tricky map that Zac Purton has to overcome. STORM SIGNAL is another that has been holding his form well but he is also one that hasn’t won out of turn (one from 20 in HK). Plenty of punters will be backing in Whyte all day and it might be he can find an uncontested lead here. This certainly would bring Storm Signal right into play. My top-three are well found by the market so it’s hard to get bullish so outlay accordingly, however, there are more suitable races to do so than this one.
