Five Hong Kong Derby aspirants compete in this event and I’m more than happy to stick with ENRICHMENT to win this race following the 8-day back-up from last weekend where he was runner-up to Good Standing. He seemed to have every possible chance on that occasion but perhaps he is looking for this distance range now and all three Hong Kong runs thus far have contained merit. He should get the run of the race and I have him marked favourite over SAVVY SIX who comes through a good event (Race 350) won by Ho Ho Khan. Savyy Six will strip fitter going in second-up this preparation and is a major contender. These seem the main two chances based on recent form according to my assessment, as the Classic Mile form which TIGRE D U TERRE, CHARITY GO, HEAVENLY THOUGHT and PACKING WARRIOR all come from is a little harder to decipher given the steadier fractions set during that race. Charity Go and Packing Warrior have shown glimpses of potential and are the two I’d most like to stick with out of that race. DANCES WITH DRAGON drops 5kg in weight and is bidding for a hat-trick of wins, but he has a couple of lengths to find how I’ve assessed this race and hence seems a big under going off early betting.
