summary

For a low-grade race there should be plenty of pace here and this might set things up nicely for runners that sit midfield or a touch off midfield. Joao Moreira rides PADDINGTON, a Hong Kong maiden who ran well over the course and distance two starts back and he’ll no doubt be popular in the market. He is also likely to be under the odds. HAPPY SOUND and MASSIVE MOVE competed in the same race down the straight (Race 273), each failed since then and there have to be some questions around that form considering it didn’t rate well and nine runners in total have competed from that event, with just one placing recorded. I prefer the form of DISTRICT EXPRESS and RUMINARE who competed last week over 1,400m. The former stayed on well to finish third to Diamond Legend on his first run in this grade and although he too is a maiden, he has more upside than most. Ruminare showed plenty of pace in that race and has the ability to lead this field for a fair way, but ultimately he is zero from four over the course and distance.

There looks to be a decent amount of pace in this race with BEST RUNNER and HAPPY SOUND the primary “go-forward” horses with RUMINARE. PADDINGTON maps to follow the speed with DISTRICT EXPRESS.
