In many respects this event is a mini-renewal of Race 329, where COUNTRY STAR prevailed over five of his rivals that he faces this time around. What one has to weigh up is the fact that Country Star is an improving galloper who will no doubt be hard to beat again, but one that is also likely to be over bet by the market given his rating relative to others. SUPER HOPPY was sound in defeat behind him last start and has obvious claims with a swing of 3kgs the weights. Zac Purton doesn’t have quite the same draw to navigate a winning path from though, which is a factor against him. I really liked the run of SUPER TURBO behind both aforementioned gallopers, he posted a race-best final-200m (11.20) after going back from a wide draw in the early stages. Super Turbo will settle back again, although from a better draw if he can be two to three lengths closer during the running it might make a winning difference. There isn’t any need to look much further than these, but it is a price thing with Country Star, so small specks on Super Hoppy and Super Turbo are where I’d lean.
